West Hendon Summer Solstice

On Wednesday, 21 June 2023 we hosted the brilliant Summer Solstice Festival for local residents. This vibrant community event took place from 3pm-8pm on Damsel Walk by West Hendon Broadway, with stage performances and side street activities, including  vintage pop trio the glamourous London Belles,  boho folk singer-songwriter Pandora’s Diary,  Jada Funk Collective performing 70s and ‘80s hits., a Chinese ribbon dance, Indian classical music performers.  Along with the performances were workshops including , including canvas painting, making flower crowns, and making sunflower masks, African drumming, balloon modelling and others.  Several street food vendors added to the Festival atmosphere, and info stalls representing Barnet Council and other local/community organisations were a big hit with the 500+ attendees.   Barnet TV filmed the proceedings.  You can watch the video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IE4YqUCTXLE  and here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzjvppZ6XBM
