West Hendon Arts and Culture Society
About Us
A small group of West Hendon residents, established West Hendon Arts and Culture Society(WHACS) in late 2022. We wanted to see West Hendon blossom again as the thriving community people who’ve live there a good while remember.
West Hendon Residents come from across the globe, many came decades or generations ago, others have come recently to the UK. Our aim is to bring the diverse national, religious, cultural and other communities living in the area together at events and through activities. The idea is that these events will help people get to know each other, make friends, learn about each other’s history and cultures, and have fun together.
WHACS’s volunteer organising team is small (5 people), energetic and determined. Over 2023 we showed we could make events happen and people would attend and participate
Key People
Meet the faces behind West Hendon Arts and Culture Society.
I’ve lived in West Hendon nearly all my life. I’ve seen it change for better and worse over the years. My work as KarmaMama, teaching holistic therapies brings joy both to me and the community members.
I believe in the power of community to generate well-being and WHACS has a growing role to play in this.

I’ve been in West Hendon just 4 years. It’s a great neighbourhood seeing massive redevelopment and change.
I believe people thrive if they feel a sense of belonging and that’s what I hope WHACS can help develop.

West Hendon’s been home to me and my family for 12 years. We love it here. The Welsh Harp and being close to nature is very special to us as being close to nature is. We enjoy the range of wildlife around us whilst living in the heart of a big city
I believe people need joy, fun and a channel for their creativity. WHACS offers people all these through the events we put on.
